Halloween, Volksmarch and Worms!

We started off our Halloween festivities with pumpkin carving and pumpkin seeds.  Nick really did a great job carving!

This was definitely  a pinterest fail! I think I needed way more crayon, but what they don't tell you is when the blow dryer is on high and the crayons start melting it shoots melted drops of wax everywhere! Not fun to clean up!

Before and After!!!
Daddy did such a good job!

 yummy seeds!!!

Lucille is really happy in this picture!

What Nick wore to work on Halloween!

 You cant see me!

Volksmarch with our Daisy Troop!  we did 6K!

I just thought this that was a cool tree!

 Daisy girls!

Nick's unit had a trunk or treat and our van won for best trunk!!  I was so happy, I had put a lot of time into it!!!

Nick's commander was Kristoff from Frozen, it was the best costume, he also one!  I hadn't seen that one, or I would have made Nick be it!!!

 The winner!!!

I tried to take pictures of the crazy Halloween we had here, I have never seen so many people in my life!

Last week, we had aout 3 days in a row where the fog was so dense you couldn't see.  This is out our living room window.  and it was so weird because the fog never went away!

 Highway to post

Yes that is Ryann asleep on the floor!

I don't remember what I was doing but I looked up and Ryann had gotten into Nick's boots, with his hat on and was going through his wallet for money!  LOL!  It has already begun!

Last Saturday we went to Worms, Germany which was about an hour away!  It was a really cool city, we will be going back for sure!

 Yummy Crepes!!!

Who knew all we needed was a sign to keep us busy!!!

All around Worms are dragon statues!  It was really fun to spot them!  I found a women's really cool blog post about all the dragons in Worms.  It has a very religious history (Worms, does!)

We were shocked at how big these leaves were!

Tasty Beer!!!

Lucille and Ryann were pretending to be our waitress.  It was hysterical watching Ryann watch Nick.  He would order everything in Germany and Ryann would pretend she was writing it down and then she would tell him that she was sorry, there was no more left!  LOL!

Giant Castle over the bridge in Worms!

Here is that giant Nibelungen Tower!!!

Sleepy Heads!!!  They had so much fun!  and they behaved really well.  We just had the greatest Saturday!!!

So much wine!!!  this stretch of the Rhein Valley was covered with grape trees, it is just so cool.  I have been wondering and should look it up, exactly how many grapes makes a bottle of wine?  Just to get an idea of the enormity of trees.

and your answer is!!!

You have to squish about 600 to 800 grapes to get each bottle of wine. anywhere from three to 10 clusters of grapes, depending on the grapes, but vine spacing, row spacing, vintage conditions, the variety and age of grapes all play a part in how many grapes you get from each acre.

WOWZER!!!

Now we are in the final stretch to Thanksgiving and we get to go HOME!!!
Cant wait for the beach house!!!  The girls are so excited to!! Everyday, they say beach house today?  well at least Ryann does.  Lucille is starting to understand time frames now.  So we work in terms of how many more times does she have to go to sleep before it is time to go!
we will head back on Nov 20th!!!  YAY!!  send prayers our way that the girls do well for me!  it will be my first time flying with 2 kiddos by myself!

Nick has been gone this week to do host country relations.  He went on a German naval ship and had a blast.  I cant wait to post all of his pictures!!!

Love you all!
